Dr. Taina Yanez

As a child growing up with a mother who was the original dental assistant for the first Grand Dental office in Franklin Park, Dr. Yanez knew she wanted to make a positive impact on others in her community. Now, as a dentist near Barrington for nearly a decade, she enjoys building long-lasting relationships with her patients and generating healthy, beautiful smiles.

She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is pleased to practice general dentistry on patients of all ages. Dr. Yanez is certified in clear braces and professionally trained in laser dentistry.

When she’s not in the office, she is spending time with her husband and their three beautiful children, two of whom are twins! She is also an avid animal lover and has three dogs, one cat, one bunny, a fish, and several backyard chickens. Her love of the outdoors includes fishing, hiking, gardening, and visiting local attractions.

Dr. Elizabeth Escarria

“Dr. Lizzy,” as she is affectionately known by her patients, enjoys building bonds with those who entrust her with their smile. Starting in dentistry at the age of 15, she worked as an assistant to her dentist’s receptionist. Witnessing the positive impact the field had on people’s lives, she decided to pursue a DMD at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

Since that time, she finished the Dr. Jin Song Orthodontic Continuum and has attended Phelan Dental Seminars to expand her skills and knowledge in occlusion and veneers. She is currently an active member of the Illinois State Dental Society.

Although she may be a dentist near Barrington who spends much of her time restoring smiles, you’ll also find her with her husband and their beautiful daughter. She enjoys staying active through sports like soccer, as well as taking dance classes and hiking. She’s also an avid learner, eager to study various topics, like theology, economics, and real estate.

Dr. Bruce Abdullah

Dr. Abdullah is a skilled periodontist near Barrington with more than three decades of experience. As an in-house periodontist and implantologist at Grand Dental – Lake Zurich, he has always enjoyed building things with his hands. Spending time as a child putting broken things back together, he grew up to realize the dental field, specifically periodontology, was the right fit for him.

After earning his dental degree at the Loyola University School of Dentistry, he obtained a Master's and Specialty certificate in periodontology from Tufts University.

Currently, he is board-certified and a diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology. Within the past 25 years, he has instructed students within the Department of Postgraduate Periodontology at the University of Illinois School of Dentistry and is an active member in 8 professional organizations.

Outside the office, Dr. Abdullah spends much of his time with his wife and their two daughters. He also coaches his daughters in golf – a sport that remains one of his biggest passions.

Dr. Sam Allen

Straightening teeth is what Dr. Allen is most passionate about. As an orthodontist near Barrington, he is inspired by the opportunity he has to physically transform patients’ smiles with orthodontic intervention.

As a child who wore braces in seventh grade, he witnessed how powerful and life-changing this type of treatment can be. Realizing he wanted others to experience and feel the same way he did, he later enrolled at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, earning his dental degree and graduating first in his class.

He later earned a certificate in orthodontics and a master’s degree in dentistry at VCU. After finishing his residency, he practiced in Colorado for several years before settling in the Chicago area.

When away from the office, Dr. Allen spends much of his time with his rescue pup, Nugget. He maintains a healthy lifestyle by engaging in early morning workouts. He is also eager to travel and enjoys visiting the Central Coast wine region of California. You might also find him learning about cars, playing tennis, and spending time at the lake and with his friends.
